Sleeper - Unplugged

Sleeper - Unplugged

Dates: 08 Nov 2024 - 08 Nov 2024

Location: Blackburn King George's Hall

In 1992 an English indie band was formed that would become part of the Britpop movement throughout the decade.

Fronted by the charismatic Louise Wener, Sleeper enjoyed chart success and allowed other girls to look cool with guitars.

The name was taken from a Woody Allen film and also alluded to a spy and an unexpected hit. One hit came through their breakthrough single ‘Inbetweener’ which comically featured the late TV presenter Dale Winton.

Let’s remind ourselves why it was such a hit –

Now over 30 years since their arrival on the music scene, Sleeper, are set to perform to an intimate audience with an Unplugged set of their songs.

There will also be an exciting question and answer segment with the band.

All taking place at The Blackburn King George’s Hall – Thursday 7th November 2024 – 8pm start. Tickets are available to book from the following website link –

They may have shaken off their old Britpop image but the songs in this format simply remind us what an enduring band they are.
