Procession Of Light Coming Soon

~Riding high off the Preston Guild torchlight procession of 2012, organisers behind next month’s Lancashire Encounter are expecting plenty of people during the Procession of Light, an illuminated city captured in brilliant light.

Preparations are already underway for the costume department.
The first workshop in which costumes will be built and established, is scheduled to take place this Wednesday at the Guild Hall ( August 31st ) from 3pm -7pm.

Approximately 20 to 30 groups will parade throughout the city of Preston in their illuminated costumes with the central theme being invention.

To coincide with the first workshop, the official Lancashire Encounter programme will also be launched.

In addition the procession  marks another great landmark - 200 years since the illumination of Preston by gas light. Expect hundreds of people to congregate, cheer and watch in amazement as the procession travels through Preston on September 24th at 8 ‘o clock in the evening.
