Music biopics are a portrait of a musician either alive or dead. In the case of Amy Jade Winehouse she has become the latter.

Born 14th September 1983, it was apparent at an early age she had a promising career in music. She signed to Simon Fuller’s 19 Management in 2002 and her debut album ‘Frank’ (a homage to Sinatra) was released in 2003.

But it was her follow up in 2006 which went on to become an international success and one of the best -selling albums in UK history. It was the inspirational title track which has since depicted the rise and fall of this iconic legend, ‘Back to Black’.

Now fans of the musician can see the real story not just about Amy but the conceptual beginnings behind all her songs.

It’s being shown at HOME – Arts Centre Friday 12th -25th April 2024.
