The Mersey Beatles

The Mersey Beatles

Dates: 10 May 2024 - 10 May 2024

Location: Blackburn King George's Hall

For the better part of 10 years, Liverpool rock group The Beatles dominated the music charts in the 1960’s. From the mop top early days to the regal look of Sgt. Pepper, each era defined their sound.

Even now, their relevance hasn’t faded. If you were brought up in the 60’s you were no doubt caught up in Beatlemania and there is so much still to be said about their lyrical depth and sometimes the simplicity of their music.

Last summer there was talk of what was known as the final Beatles record. It became the bittersweet release, ‘Now and Then’ – November 2023. It was a celestial mix of the late John Lennon’s vocals blended with Ringo on drums, Paul on bass and the late George Harrison on guitar. The track became their first UK number one single since 1969.

The music video is slightly surreal in places yet comical and also incredibly moving for any Beatles fan. Take a look at it here –

Tribute acts are still doing justice to this treasured band. The Mersey Beatles are a fantastic live act and they’ll be playing all the hits at The Blackburn King George’s Hall on Saturday 11th May 2024 from 7.30pm.

The Beatles story is far from over. Sam Mendes is expected to direct four movies about each Beatle, slated for release in 2027 with an ‘innovative and ground-breaking’ release schedule.

In the meantime relive the glory days with The Mersey Beatles.
