When we look back at our youth we sometimes cringe at old photographs then we remember how young we were and how we had the whole world at our fingertips.

Richard Paul Astley or better known to all of us as Rick Astley was just 21 when he entered the music business. It was the mastermind production trio of Stock, Aitken and Waterman that helped to create what was then his first album ‘Whenever You Need Somebody’.

It was successful on the strength of a series of singles, most of which was the number one smash hit ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ which was a hit in 25 countries and won a Brit Award in 1988 for Best British Single.

Even to this day Astley will pay immense gratitude for the single that broke him into the music industry and is a guaranteed live favourite finishing is set to a rapturous applause.
