Location: The Continental pub - South Meadow Lane - Preston

If poetry is the new rock and roll it needs a suitable venue to cater for those who wish to enjoy it.

The Continental pub on South Meadow Lane – Preston is home to live music. Every week they stage local talent performing either a series of their own numbers or some reworked classics as a tribute act.

With this ultra- cool atmosphere it needs a little poetic licence to calm the overworked musician into a state of complete peace and tranquility.

Damson Poets has helped to promote celebrated writers and given a voice for poets who have something to say.

The next evening will take place on Wednesday February 28th 2024 from 7.30pm – 9.30pm in The Boatyard area. Special guest Bill Lythgoe will be talking about his new book – ‘Time is a River’.

This will be followed by an open mic session. Names will be taken for reading slots from 7.15pm. Each slot is a maximum of 5 minutes. The start time is 7.30pm. Free entry.
