Some bands claim to provide the hits and the tunes that span many generations but fail to deliver. However, this featured soul group are the genuine article.

Formed in the 1970’s, ‘The Real Thing’ have remained a dominant force on the soul music world with their feel good numbers. Tracks such as-

  • Can’t Get By Without You
  • Can You Feel the Force?
  • You to me are Everything

The latter was their most successful single reaching number one on the UK Singles Chart, staying there for three weeks in July 1976.

Nearly 50 years later it’s the track they’re most recognised by. Let’s remind ourselves why in this archive film -

Now, with a career spanning five decades The Real Thing are experiencing something of a renaissance with their music. More people are getting into it thanks to their recent new material and talk of an upcoming performance.
