Do I love you?

If you’re into a particular style of music you will be happily sit through a forthcoming theatrical production.

Northern Soul was a music and dance movement that emerged in Northern England and the Midlands in the early 1970’s. It developed from the British mod scene, based on a particular style of Black American soul music with a heavy beat and fast tempo.

The scene and the associated dances and fashions quickly spread to other dancehalls and nightclubs. Those frequenting these venues would be seen performing spins, flips, karate kicks and backdrops.

Over 50 years later and the genre is celebrated with a comedy theatre show, ‘Do I love you?’ Written and directed by John Godber.

Revisit this amazing movement and follow the story of these young people who begin to appreciate a love for Northern Soul. It’s showing from 10th – 13th April 2024.
