Darwen School of Music - 32nd Showcase

Did you ever sit down with your young children and watch the 2003 film ‘School of Rock’ and imagine your kids someday becoming musicians and hitting the big time?

Not all of us have that privilege of course but if the talent is there surely you would want your children to thrive in a musical environment.

On Sunday 3rd March 2024 the Darwen Library Theatre is opening it’s doors for the 32nd Showcase of the Darwen School of Music. Students are expected to perform from 7pm.

Granted, they may not have the over the top character of rock guitarist and teacher Dewey Finn (played by Jack Black) but these students have been tutored to give of their very best so that not one chord or string is broken.

Twenty plus years since the original classic was released and talk of a sequel is in development. In 2013, ‘School of Rock’ was adapted into a stage musical. Also in that year the cast from the original were brought together for a 10 year reunion, they had all transmogrified into adults.
