Naomi Harwin - Middle Moments

Naomi Harwin - Middle Moments

Dates: 13 Jan 2024 - 24 Mar 2024

Location: Granada Foundation Galleries - HOME - Arts Centre - Manchester

Manchester is a busy hustling city centre. Everyday people are rushing to work, dropping the kids off at school or getting to a doctor’s appointment.

Yet, somehow, in the midst of all this chaos they are missing something truly unique and captivating to the artist’s eye.

In a forthcoming exhibition entitled – ‘Naomi Harwin – Middle Moments’ – we see the artist in question displaying her ‘middle moments’ in Manchester through cut outs and interactive tactile installations.

Naomi’s work encourages us to reconsider how we navigate the city, urging us to consider: how we can reframe our habits and daily rituals as we walk through the streets?

It will take place at the Granada Foundation Galleries courtesy of HOME – Arts Centre – Manchester from Saturday 13th January – Sunday 24th March 2024. The event is free to attend and no booking is required.

Naomi’s work captures the playful, ephemeral moments where light brings our built environment alive. The different shades of blue stems from memories of the blue bedrooms in her childhood home to the calming hues found in the crystal-clear sky.

‘Middle Moments’ is a reminder to slow down and find peace, reflection and joy in the seemingly ‘invisible’ times that make up the vast majority of our lives. To echo the words of artist Yves Klein, ‘Blue is the invisible becoming visible’.

What are your middle moments?
