Next year marks the 50th anniversary of the formation of one of America’s greatest bands. ‘Blondie’ began their career in 1974 and had  a string of top ten singles that dominated the airwaves.

They were responsible for a good decade in creating the new wave pop rock songs that became an instant hit around the world.

One of their era defining songs was the 1980 release ‘Call Me’. It was featured in the film American Gigolo, produced and composed by Italian musician Giorgio Moroder, with lyrics by Blondie singer Debbie Harry. It was the band’s biggest single charting at number one for six consecutive weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Let’s remind ourselves of that absolute classic -

Debbie Harry is otherwise engaged but the next best thing is a fantastic tribute act. Bootleg Blondie are coming to The Grand venue in Clitheroe on Saturday 2nd March 2024 from 7pm.
