Cinema at the Continental

Do you remember the 1980’s? It’s a good 40 years ago but the way we watched films was very different and had an authentic and local appeal about it.

Where I lived out in Beacon Fell we had a video man visit the area with a series of films on VHS in the back of his van, we would hire them out and he would visit the area in a couple of days to have them back. There was something of a novelty about this and as a child it was very magical.

Of course film watching has developed over four decades to cinema attendance, DVD’s and Netflix.

But what about watching a movie with friends and loved ones at your local pub? It’s something a certain Preston pub has been doing for some time now and it’s a well -received event to be a part of.

Cinema at The Continental takes place fortnightly on Tuesday with the next one being this Tuesday 19th December. The fun starts from 7pm – 9.30pm so grab your first round of beers before the opening credits.

It’s a £3 entry fee and the entertainment takes place in ‘The Boatyard’. You can experience –
