The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair

Location: Victoria Baths - Hathersage Road - Manchester

I remember growing up in the 1980’s my parents owned a craft gallery in the heart of the countryside. It was a popular attraction yet what I recall fondly was the high standard of craftsmanship that made the gallery so unique.

We would invite local artists to exhibit their work and have amazing demonstrations by professional artists. It was the creative workshop any young child could dream of.

By the time I was 16 the craft gallery had long been forgotten about as we had moved to Goosnargh but I will never forget that special time in my life.

In the time I appreciated the gallery another established creative exhibition has been going on.

The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair 2023 is now in it’s 16th year and continues to be one of the UK’s biggest and most prestigious craft shows, celebrating craft in all its contemporary guises.

It will take place from Thursday 19th – Sunday 22nd October at Victoria Baths – Hathersage Road – Manchester.

Please note - The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair begins with a special preview evening on Thursday 19th October (6pm – 9pm), then opens to the public on Friday 20th October and Saturday 21st October (10am – 5pm) until Sunday 22nd October (10am – 4pm).
