This year marks 50 years since the birth of the hip hop genre. It’s seen some shifting bands and sounds of the last five decades yet the 1990’s somehow saw a rebirth to a whole new generation.

Directed by Clement Virgo the upcoming film ‘Brother’ set to feature at HOME – Arts Centre Manchester very soon is set during the early hip hop scene.

It’s a powerful story that follows two boys becoming young men. Music becomes an emotive soundtrack throughout that carries the film and reveals the poignant bond between siblings.
