The Overtones - A Night To Remember - Up Close and Personal

Dates: 28 Oct 2023 - 28 Oct 2023

Location: Blackburn King George's Hall

Irish punk rock band The Undertones were a force to be reckoned with in their heyday during the mid - 70’s and early 1980’s.

Looking fierce and ready for action their standout single was their debut 1978 track ‘Teenage Kicks’. Championed by the late great John Peel it became an anthem for teenagers and young people during the late 1970’s.

In complete contrast, The Overtones are a contemporary vocal performance group who look smart, ready to impress and come with original songs and classic hits. They have made numerous appearances in the media world and are set to perform a medley of feel- good numbers to an appreciative audience very soon.

A step aside from the punk anarchy of The Undertones, lead vocalist Feargal Sharkey ventured on a solo career and carved a path that was designed for 1980’s sheer pop nostalgia. Achieving solo success with the 1985 single ‘A Good Heart’. This is about the closest you’ll get to comparing him to the smooth pop of The Overtones.
