If David Bowie was the art rock of his time then Gary Numan is, and remains the electronic pop pioneer of the modern age.

Numan experienced a peak in commercial success during the late 70’s and early 80’s when he emerged on the scene as the punk genre was fading.

His two notable hits from that period were ‘Are Friends’ Electric?’ and ‘Cars’ (both of which reached number one of the UK singles chart)

‘Cars’ was actually his debut single released on 21st August 1979 and was taken from his first record ‘The Pleasure Principle’.

On Friday August 11th 2023 The Continental pub on South Meadow Lane- Preston is opening it’s doors to an Electro 80s Night – Liquid Engineers (Gary Numan Tribute) & Depeche Mode Experience UK. The live music kicks off at 8pm and concludes at 11pm.

Depeche Mode have recently returned to the music scene following the sad death of keyboardist Andy Fletcher so a resurgence in the hits as reached an all-time high. Enjoy some of their best- known numbers at this gig.

It’s a combined opportunity to relive some of the classic 80’s tracks from an amazing decade in music from two excellent tribute acts.
