She had the voice of an angel and in her 30 years + as a recording artist she became one of the bestselling music artists of all time, totalling over 200 million records sold worldwide.

But hidden within, Whitney Elizabeth Houston was a troubled soul. Her recording career was damaged by her misuse of drugs and her troubled marriage.

By the time the 2012 Grammy Awards came around, it was announced that Houston had passed away at just 48 years young. However, what she achieved in such a relatively short time should not be marred by what she did in her private life.

The 2022 biopic ‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody’ was a beautiful example of someone who was determined to achieve positive results in the music world despite her chequered past.

Now this autumn there’s a chance to watch and hear those classic numbers once again. ‘Whitney – Queen of the Night’ – The Ultimate Tribute to Whitney Houston is coming to the Blackburn King George’s Hall on Saturday 7th October 2023.
