A town like Blackburn, Lancashire shouldn’t be underestimated. Even The Beatles wrote lyric referencing this cultural town.

That being the case what better place to host a growing event that helps to promote the work of international and national artists.

The National Festival of Making is an annual celebration of art. Last year alone it staged over 50 exhibitions, performances, workshops, talks and markets across 22 locations in the town centre.

Now it’s back for 2023 and this year it continues it’s promise to provide a programme of work that combines Art, Manufacturing, Making and Communities. They pride themselves on commissioning international and national artists to create world class works, a year- round programme and a participatory FREE FAMILY festival for all to enjoy.

It will take place the weekend of Saturday 8th – Sunday 9th July.
