When you hear the name Ridley Scott you may immediately associate him with the Alien film franchise that began in 1979.

There was a strong female presence in the form of Sigourney Weaver who battled with aliens in this science fiction classic.

However, fast forward 12 years and you have two ladies cast in the main roles – Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon in the feel- good comedy classic 1991’s ‘Thelma and Louise”.

The great news is it has been digitally restored for a whole new generation plus it’s being shown at HOME Arts Centre – Manchester now until June 22nd 2023.

Scott has consistently cast leading female roles for his films demonstrating how skilled they are on the big screen and giving them ample opportunity to take on any role Scott has planned for them.
