Killer Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody, Somebody to Love and We are the Champions, just some of the iconic rock anthems that made Queen a household name.
But it was the musical talent of frontman, the late Freddie Mercury that did these songs justice and when performed live the band took them to a whole new level.
Their most memorable concert was their show stealing set at Live Aid in 1985. Following this, their entire back catalogue re-entered the music chart demonstrating what a huge impact Queen had on the music industry.
On 24th November 1991, the lights went down, the microphone shut off and the guitar amp unplugged as their charismatic frontman died of AIDS.
Freddie was undoubtedly the best frontman of all time. He had the audience in the palm of his hands and he could take them on the adventure of a lifetime.
In the aftermath of his death many Queen fans were quick to replicate the sound and look of the rock band. Tribute bands came up and own the country as they saw an opportunity that was too good to miss.
Out of this period came Supreme Queen. It’s the next best thing to the magic and music of the original band. They’ll be performing a set of your favourite Queen songs on Friday June 9th 2023 from 7pm at The Blackburn King George’s Hall.
