For every artist there is that one song they release the becomes synonymous throughout their entire career. In front of a live audience, it usually concludes the set to a rapturous applause.

For English singer songwriter Steve Harley that song was the January 1975 single, ‘Make me Smile (Come Up and See Me). It was his biggest hit reaching the number one spot on the UK chart in February and received a UK silver certification that month.

Some 40 or so years later it is still an absolute classic. However, imagine how it would sound acoustically. It would still resonate with fans yet it would have a more peaceful, ambient tone to it.

On Saturday 1st July 2023 Steve Harley will be performing all the classic numbers including Make Me Smile with his acoustic band. The legendary artist will be on stage from 8pm at the Blackburn King George’s Hall.
