Saturday Sessions No. 18 LS Lowry with Graeme Windle

It takes real skill to understand the depth of creativity that the late LS Lowry was able to achieve.

In his lifetime he was recognised as a painter that accurately depicted the scenes of life in the industrial districts of North West England in the mid – 20th century.

Most notably was his work that showed his ability to have urban landscapes as the backdrop to his human figures often referred to as ‘matchstick men’.

This weekend you can experience ‘Saturday Sessions No. 18 LS Lowry with Graeme Windle’. From 6th May 2023 10am till 12noon. Located at Longitude Art Gallery- Clitheroe.

The session will help those attending discover that there was so much more to Lowry’s work than just match stick cats and dogs. You will learn his method and approach to his work which was often quite an intense experience.

Graeme Windle (Atlantic Contemporary Art) will deliver a study into the intense nature and social commentary of the portrait work of LS Lowry.
