Location: The Continental Pub - South Meadow Lane - Preston

An evening out in your local pub can be divided in two ways. At one half of the pub is the loud raucous punk band that are looking to get signed, at the other half of the pub is the quiet, peaceful two- hour edition of the spoken word night.

You may get different audiences attending each event but the one thing they have in common is the intent to appeal to the public. Each participant in the poetry evening’s goal is to create moving pieces of work which will stay in the heart and mind of those present long after the night has finished.

As part of Preston Arts Festival, The Continental pub on South Meadow Lane, Preston welcomes all to Damson Poets – Open Mic Special with poems on the theme of ‘April’.

It will take place on Wednesday 26th April 2023 from 7.30pm -9.30pm in the event space/The Boatyard. All are welcome and it’s free entry.

Please note – this is an open mic event so organisers will be taking names for reading slots from 7.15pm. Each slot is a maximum of 5 minutes.
