At this time of the year a lot of people like to travel abroad to an exotic location for a couple of weeks to escape the every- day norm. During their stay they may visit well known landmarks, spend time at the beach or relax by the pool.

When doing the latter it’s often a good book that absorbs their mind to switch off for a while whilst stimulating their senses with some words of fiction.

Ten years ago  The Bookshop Band had only been together for a mere four years yet their ability to create songs inspired by books garnered them a close- knit circle of fans that have remained with them for the past decade.

Now in 2024 they have established themselves as a very popular band and have gained some legendary collaborations in the process. They’ll be performing a set of their self – composed songs this Thursday 4th July – 7.30pm – 10.30pm at The Continental pub – South Meadow Lane – Preston.

Special guest musician Mike Kneafsey is no stranger to books too. An avid reader, who admits to being inspired by his favourite books in the song-writing process. His songs tell a story and he is very proficient on the guitar. Mike will be playing a series of his songs as the perfect support act for The Bookshop Band.
