~We have all at some point in our lives lost someone we love in death. Often the church service is an opportunity for friends and family to say something that has touched them deeply and is a personal farewell to the person they have lost. Poems can have a great impact in response to the death of a loved one. Writing prose can touch the heart of the audience as they feel the pain you’re going through.

Tomorrow afternoon between the hour of 4pm - 5pm there is a unique event which develops further the aforementioned sentence. ‘The Art of Losing :- Poets Discuss Loss’ will take place at UCLAN’S Livesey House, Room 202, Preston Campus.

Those attending can expect to see participants from the writing for well-being sessions running  in collaboration with the Harris Museum and Gallery who be reading some of their poems

Sponsored by CADG, the subject of loss will be performed by members of the public and students. This event is part of the In Conversation research seminar series, organised by Dr Robin Purves. It will  be chaired by Yvonne Reddick.

The event is free and no booking is required.

The hour is especially pertinent for those who have recently lost someone in death or who have just received news of a terminal illness. All are welcome in this moving and thoughtful day.
