~~This month’s ‘Spotlight on CCG Members’ cut their teeth or should that be flexed their elbow in 1985 following a qualification as a Chartered Physiotherapist. 33 years later she is now a Pro-Vice Chancellor and Dean for Health Psychology and Social Care at Manchester Metropolitan University. Let’s learn more about Professor Alison Chambers.

After her graduation in the mid 1980’s Alison worked in clinical practice for a duration of ten years. During this time she had garnered enough experience and knowledge to progress into higher education by 1995.

The following twenty years (1995 -2015) saw Alison go from strength to strength. She has worked in four higher education institutions and has held a number of senior roles. During the past two decades Alison gained valuable experience developing successful business/university partnerships and has become a strong advocate for student centred higher education that places emphasis on graduate employability.

This involvement in helping students reach their potential has developed across the health and social care sector as well as amongst employers, supporting workforce transformation. She has also successfully met the demands of the contemporary health and social care practice.

Now in 2018, Alison Chambers is Pro-Vice Chancellor and Dean for Health Psychology and Social Care at Manchester Metropolitan University. Her work at the University includes :-

*External engagement

* Partnership development &

 *Collaboration with health and social care organisations in the public and private sectors.

With a thirty year career in health and social care and being a strong advocate in helping young people find employment we know we can all benefit in having Alison as one of our newest members of the CCG. Welcome.
