Lecture :- Black Is Beautiful?- UCLAN - 1.30pm - 3pm - 21/6/19
~They say ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder’. When the beholder is a white male who is attracted to a black female his feelings are personal to him and to him alone.
You could question whether black is a figure of beauty. With so much against black people in terms of their ancestry, employment discrimination and social isolation many could contest that they don’t stand a chance in a place like the United Kingdom when there’s a high percentage of white people.
On Friday 21st June a lecture is based at UCLAN, Scholars Restaurant in the Foster Building. It will speak on the subject :- ‘Black is beautiful?’ . Interested ones should arrive at approximately 1pm for a 1.30pm start. The lecture concludes at 3pm. Admission is completely free.
Physical beauty is one area where African and European cultural values clash. Why not learn more about this engaging discussion and see for yourself how colour represents a person in a positive way.
