~Can you imagine the people of Preston being forced from their homes to escape famine, climate change and war? It sounds like an unlikely  scenario but 65 million people around the world have experienced this in what has been described as the greatest human displacement since World War 2.

Preston may not be  undergoing such a disturbance but it is playing host to a film which reveals such events. Renowned artist Ai Weiwei is the mastermind behind a moving documentary which gives a powerful visual expression to this massive human migration.

The film screening of ‘Human Flow’ is being shown next Monday 17th June between the hours of 6pm- 9pm. It will feature at UCLAN’S Mitchell and Kenyon Lecture Theatre, Foster Building, Preston Campus. It will be followed by an in-depth Q&A and discussion.

The event is free to attend and interested ones especially media related students should take note to inspire them to capture some of the most harrowing scenes on film. This is one of many events which are acknowledging UCLAN Refugee Week 2019. For other events please view the CCG events which considers many more.

The documentary clearly explains both the staggering scale of the refugee crisis and its profoundly personal human impact:-
