~1994.  The internet was just a small fragment of information compared to what it is now and the usage of tools such as Photoshop took some time till it became an essential skill for Graphic Designers.

It was also during this time that artist Daniel Davidson began creating his artistic designs. Upon leaving school he progressed to study Graphic Arts. Daniel developed as an artist and moved into sign design/manufacturing learning the essentials of placement and spacing of image and text.

Years passed and Daniel found a new interest in music which saw him working with big name record companies such as EMI and Virgin Records. This new found interest allowed him to write music for artists whilst simultaneously creating an accompanying visual, in the form of illustration and moving image.

More than a mere interest, Daniel took this obsession and channelled it positively using eclectic references and branching out to enable him to create something personal and unique both to himself and his appreciative audience.

25 years later from his original passion comes an exciting and captivating exhibition of his work at a local gallery in the North West of England, Lancashire.

‘Colour of Music’ is currently on public display at the Prism Contemporary Art Gallery in Blackburn. He also has work on display at Artistry House in Preston as part of the Atlantic Contemporary Art Collection.

Daniel spoke recently about the significance of his art and what it means to him personally,

"I know how important my creativity is to my wellbeing. It is the ability to breathe deep, clean air. I love breathing clean air."

Colour of Music marks Daniel’s first solo exhibition and is on display now until Thursday 31st January 2019 at the  Prism Contemporary Art Gallery, Lord Street, Blackburn. You may also wish to view the Artistry House in Preston as part of the Atlantic Contemporary Art Collection (atlanticcontemporaryart.com)
