~When you consider national and local music festivals the local one sounds much more appealing. Take Glastonbury for example, the 1997 annual event was renowned for it’s torrential rain and mud- hardly enjoyable. Or The Download festival, a gathering of hard rock and grunge enthusiasts immersed together to create a mosh pit which could potentially get violent.

Just imagine taking yourself out of the aforementioned festivals and transporting yourself into an idyllic setting where insects and plant life roamed free and  where you could relax without getting beaten up or drenched in mud.

The award-winning Cloudspotting Music and Arts Festival returns to Gisburn Forest from June 21-23 – the closest weekend to the Midsummer solstice. Much like last years ‘A Break in the Cloud’s’ event it’s scheduled to run Friday to Sunday early afternoon.

The live music includes headline acts :-

  • Bill Ryder Jones
  • Jeffrey Lewis and Los Bolts
  • Honey Feet.

The three day festival comprises of 2 live music stages, family arts activities and ‘zog’ activity trail. Day Tickets are still available:- For Friday :- £30 adult, £15 teen, £10 children. Saturday :- £40 adult, £25 teen, £20 children. For more information please visit:- cloudspotting-festival.co.uk. You may also wish to download a programme simply log on to :- Download '339_programme2019_02.pdf'.

Cloudspotting is unlike any other festival. The beauty is in its intimacy. Located deep in Lancashire largest forest, Cloudspotting offers a wonderful escape in a totally exclusive back-to-nature experience shared with a few hundred like-minded souls.

It’s a festival where you are so close to the action you are always involved and with the range of arts and cultural activities on offer, there’s ample opportunity to try new things, or simply relax and soak up the entertainment.

Look out also for indie folk band Sweeney Astray. They combine intelligent lyrics with peaceful melodies.
